August 15, 2012 - Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Stranger: The Science of Hollywood Superheroes panel in Beverly Hills tonight


Don't Try This at Home! The Physics of Hollywood Movies author Adam Weiner is hosting Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Stranger: The Science of Hollywood Superheroes tonight at 7:30 PM!  General admission is $5.00, but tickets are only $2.00 after service fees here.  The panel will be shown clips from various superhero films and then discuss the science behind the characters and scenes.  The panel includes:

June 28, 2012 - The Amazing Spider-Man premieres in Westwood tonight


Highly anticipated Summer blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man premieres in Westwood Village tonight at the Regency Village Theatre!  The cast (Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field & other stars), filmmakers and Spider-Man creator Stan Lee are all scheduled to start walking the red carpet at 6:30 p.m.  A lot of people are expected, so arrive early for a good spot!  If you can't make it to the premiere you can watch it streaming live online here.

The 20th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition continues with free admission and some added goodies for comic book fans today!  From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today the FIDM Museum & Galleries will be hosting ComicFest with several comic book artists on hand to discuss their work with you and sign your comic books.  You'll also be able to see the costumes used in the movies Captain America & Thor, create your own comic, there will be giveaways, a live DJ and more!

March 24, 2012 - Stan Lee is stopping by The Grove to sign his new book

Legendary comic book icon and former Marvel Comics president and chairman, Stan Lee is signing his new graphic novel Romeo and Juliet: The War today at Barnes & Noble at The Grove!

This event is a wristbanded event, so you'll want to buy the book when Barnes & Noble opens at 9:00 AM to ensure getting it signed by Stan Lee when he arrives at 5:00 PM for the book signing.  If you can't be at Barnes & Noble when they open, please call and make sure the wristbands are still available before you head down.
